Arbitron Settles Ratings Discrimination Lawsuit That Largely Overlooked Blacks And Hispanics

Hollywood

This is a follow up to the March 13, 2012 article Hollywood And The Ratings Game Makes One Realize Nielson Figures Are Not An Accurate Reflection Of Viewing Numbers. A week later, radio ratings company, Arbitron, settled a lawsuit that alleged they under-reported the viewing choices of blacks and Hispanics in America.

Nielson also needs to come clean regarding their rating procedures. Blacks and Hispanics deserve to be counted. Everyone does. America is a big country and to truly gauge the nation's listening and viewing habits, as many people as possible need to be included. I am convinced, over the years, a number of radio and television shows that were cancelled early, should not have been, as the ratings figures were not accurate.

Arbitron to pay $400,000 in lawsuit over ratings

March 26, 2012, 8:08PM ET - Radio audience ratings company Arbitron Inc. says it is paying $400,000 to settle a case in California in which it was accused of under-representing black and Hispanic listeners in its surveys in the state's largest cities. Lawyers for the state and the cities of Los Angeles and San Francisco said Arbitron's "Portable People Meters" system "dramatically" under-recruited from those populations when it began in 2008. Arbitron found participants mainly by calling land-line telephones, a process that tends to under-represent minority populations. The government attorneys said the shortfall of black and Latino participants resulted in a sharp drop in advertising rates and revenue for many radio stations that serve black and Hispanic communities...

Hollywood And The Ratings Game Makes One Realize Nielson Figures Are Not An Accurate Reflection Of Viewing Numbers

Hollywood

For years the Nielson company has monitored television ratings in America, but are their results a true reflection of the nation? No. Nielson ratings are derived from boxes they send to select homes throughout America, but it does not encompass every television in the country. Therefore, how can the results be accurate.

A better system is needed. Minority shows largely featuring blacks and or Hispanics, have routinely suffered in ratings and this is likely due to not enough people of color being tallied by Nielson. Blacks and Hispanics account for over 1/3 of the population in the United States. How can these markets continue to be undercounted.

The FBI's Martin Luther King Civil Rights Stories During Black History Month Are Insincere In Light Of Current Events

U.S. President Barack Obama and FBI Director Robert S. Mueller

During black history month, the FBI has been publishing stories to its website about their alleged role in establishing civil rights in America, even invoking the late, great Martin Luther King Jr., who past agents say the agency had murdered on J. Edgar Hoover's orders. The entire push seems very insincere, considering the sheer number of civil rights cases, where minorities have been and continue to be subjected to vile hate crimes, continues unabated.

When the current head of the FBI, Robert S. Mueller, a man who is worse than Hoover, singles out all Muslims as terrorists waiting to happen and brainwashed cult devotees, leading to a congressional reprimand only months ago, that says the Federal Bureau of Investigation's claims about racial impartiality at the agency are untrue. When the FBI is sued by its own black and Hispanic agents in modern times for racial slurs and discrimination within the agency, it says the FBI hasn't changed and is a danger to minorities.

Mitt Romney Introduces His Spanish Speaking Son At Florida Event To Cheers

Republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, brought his Spanish speaking son along at a Florida event, in courting the important Hispanic vote. His son spoke well in Spanish. I don't speak Spanish well, but from the few words I caught it did sound right. Besides, the accent was good. Romney's dad was born in Mexico, after his granddad joined a Mormon colony in the country. The family returned to America when Romney's dad was a child.

*Looks at U.S. immigration*: has anyone checked Mitt Romney's immigration status. Is he even legal. I'm just teasing (LOL). I would never turn in an illegal immigrant.

Romney's son looks a bit tan and his hair is curly. Dude is looking a bit Latino. Are you sure a Mexican didn't get his fiesta on with Romney's mama or grandmama. Maury! Maury! Maury! Joking again.

Newt Gingrich talking out the side of his mouth

Gangsta Gingrich was there as well dropping a few words in Spanish. Sorry, I'm not feeling Newt (but looking at his many marriages, apparently quite a few women are). Dude is the Elizabeth Taylor of the Republican Party with all these marriages. His track record since the 1990s is too spotty. Too many questionable financial issues. Too many links to corruption. I saw an interview with him recently and he invoked the word "cabal" like it was something positive. I think not buddy boy!

The Republican field has whittled down to some tough choices. Many Americans have qualms about Mormonism, which Romney is apart of and people know flat out that Gingrich is a cheat and a corrupt liar. Ron Paul talks a lot of sense, but has not been able to get the kind of support he needs to move out front in the race.

Perry, who left the race, has professed good values, but public speaking gave him difficulty at times. On the other side of the fence is big spender President Obama, whose policies have failed right before everyone's eyes. America has a tough choice to make.

Obama’s War Against Immigrants

The Numbers Speak For Themselves

Barack Obama

As stated previously on the Judiciary Report, U.S. President, Barack Obama, is waging a war against illegal immigrants, deporting a record number of people in 2011, who were simply seeking a better life (The Obama Administration Has Deported A Record Number Of Immigrants In 2011).

The Hispanic community is very upset with Obama over said choices, as recent polls reveal and they are not backing him in the 2012 election as a result. Immigrants, much like natural born American citizens, have contributed much to America. Furthermore, at the end of the day, this world and every country in it belongs to God.
